{"id":1698,"date":"2025-05-14T22:13:02","date_gmt":"2025-05-14T22:13:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.rackemapp.com\/?p=1698"},"modified":"2025-05-14T22:13:02","modified_gmt":"2025-05-14T22:13:02","slug":"table-lights","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.rackemapp.com\/?p=1698","title":{"rendered":"Table Lights"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>RackEmApp contains a system that allows you to operate your pool table lights from a mobile tablet and certain supported smart switches, available readily from <a href=\"https:\/\/shellystore.co.uk\/\">Shelly<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The smart switches\/plugs are installed to the lights, connected to WiFi and you can then remotely control them with some simple configuration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This combined with the hourly rate settings from table bookings gives you a great low cost solution for charging for your pool tables.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Supported Devices<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The devices that have been coinfirmed as working for RackEmApp are as follows, though most other switches in the range are likely to be compatible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Shelly 1 Gen 4 (Smart switch)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shelly 1 Mini Gen 3 (Smart switch)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shelly Plus Plug UK (Smart Plug)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The smart switches require to be wired in to the lighting circuit. The smart plug will work with a standard UK plug and is more flexible and easy to implement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Setup<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When you purchase and have installed your devices,and they are successfully on the WiFiin line with the maufacturers instructions, you are ready to set them up in RackEmApp. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will need a Shelly account and access to the Shelly Cloud control panel to proceed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In <strong>Venue Management<\/strong> > <strong>Settings<\/strong>, scroll down to the <strong>Integrated Light Setup<\/strong> section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"792\" height=\"184\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.rackemapp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/image.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1699\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.rackemapp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/image.png 792w, https:\/\/blog.rackemapp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/image-300x70.png 300w, https:\/\/blog.rackemapp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/image-768x178.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 792px) 100vw, 792px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>You obtain the <strong>Cloud Server <\/strong>and <strong>Authorization Key<\/strong> from the SHelly control panel. Go to <strong>Settings <\/strong>> <strong>User Settings<\/strong> > <strong>Authorize cloud key<\/strong> and press Get Key. Also in the venue settings, you have your list of pool tables. For any tables where you wish to use a smart device, check the <strong>Integrated Light<\/strong> box, and you will see a box to enter your shelly device ID.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"559\" height=\"428\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.rackemapp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/image-3.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1703\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.rackemapp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/image-3.png 559w, https:\/\/blog.rackemapp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/image-3-300x230.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 559px) 100vw, 559px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Your device ID can be found in the Shelly Cloud control panel, by selecting your device, clicking the Cog icon (settings) and clicking Device Information to reveal your device ID.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"396\" height=\"810\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.rackemapp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/image-4.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1704\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.rackemapp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/image-4.png 396w, https:\/\/blog.rackemapp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/image-4-147x300.png 147w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 396px) 100vw, 396px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Repeat this step for all lights you need to set up, and remember to press <strong>Save<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hourly Rate<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you do not already use table bookings, you need to also set up the hourly rates for your pool tables. Instructions for this are contained <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.rackemapp.com\/?p=1438\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Operation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Operation is designed to be on a tablet fixed behind the bar, that will need to be plugged in and &#8220;always on&#8221;. Press it for as many hours as the customer is pre-paying for. Then press the <strong>green start <\/strong>button to start the timer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"594\" height=\"297\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.rackemapp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/image-8.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1708\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.rackemapp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/image-8.png 594w, https:\/\/blog.rackemapp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/image-8-300x150.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 594px) 100vw, 594px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>You will see the panel turns green, the light turns on, and the countdown starts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At any point in time, if the customer wants to pay for another hour, press the <strong>grey +<\/strong> button again to add another hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The light will automatically switch off when their time expires, or you can manually stop the light with the <strong>red Stop <\/strong>button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pay as you Go<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If customers are going to simply pay for what they use, you only need to use the <strong>green Start <\/strong>button to get going.
